Best Practice: Tele counselling for Key Populations Living with HIVs to improve retention

ICRH Kenya engaged 15 peer navigators to trace defaulting Key Populations Living with HIVs (KPLHIV), including following them up in hotspots or at home. All participants were contacted before Anti Retroviral Therapy appointment dates, this strategy helped in reduction of number of missed appointments. Those unable to attend due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions were referred to the nearest health facilities for refills. Tele counselling was offered to KPLHIVs, through clinician service providers to ascertain their wellness. ICRHK also leveraged on a tele counsellor supported by our Amplify Change program to improve mental health outcomes of KPLHIVs on ART during Covid-19.
