Female condom education and promotion in Mombasa and Kilifi County

ICRH Kenya in conjunction with Pathfinder International conducted sensitization training for female sex workers mentors on female condom education and promotion in Mombasa and Kilifi County.

Condoms have historically aided in tackling the HIV epidemic globally. Female condoms, which can be initiated independently by women, have been shown to provide comparable or improved efficacy against the transmission of STIs and HIVs in comparison to male condoms. For vulnerable populations, such as female sex workers, female condoms may provide an alternative and more feasible option to protect themselves, especially when clients refuse to use a male condom.
