Within the margin of the ICRH+20 conference, ICRH and WHO jointly organized a launch of the supplement entitled ‘Where are we in Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights 20 years from the ICPD’.

Els Leye attended the Girl Summit 2014, hosted by the UK Government and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), in London on July 22 2014. The summit aimed at building on current efforts and rallying a global movement to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and child, early and forced marriage (CEFM). It brought together young people, community members, activists, traditional and faith leaders, governments and international leaders, civil society, and the private sector. The summit showcased initiatives that have aimed to reduce FGM and CEFM, whether at local or national levels, and was a forum for sharing learning and discussing the most pressing challenges, opportunities and successes in accelerating change at scale.

Thea Van Rumst steunt sinds 2010 het Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi, Kenia, een ziekenhuis aan de rand van de sloppenwijken waar jaarlijks 30.000 vrouwen bevallen in de meest erbarmelijke omstandigheden. Elk jaar werkt ze een tijdje als vrijwillige vroedvrouw in de ‘labour ward’. Daarnaast zamelt ze geld in voor het verbeteren van de werkomstandigheden voor de vroedvrouwen en om de zwangere vrouwen de kans te geven om op een veilige en comfortabele manier te bevallen. Op zondag 17 augustus neemt Thea deel aan de Mr. T. Ladies Triatlon in Gent, ten voordele van het Pumwani Marternity Hospital project.
